Flow

I wish for my body to enter that state of flow just as the waves

come and go, come and go

my blood rises and falls in sequential rhythm like the sea

all over me

I have been stuck for too long in an unmoving cycle

the crevices in my skin becoming stale

stuck in survival

if I keep quiet long enough I can hear

tree roots underground brewing

earth simmering after a sharp winter

renewing

not long now until the earth will erupt

the buds bursting with aliveness

intact

come slowly out of darkness

don’t rush the unhurried process of awakening;

unfold your body in time with the earth

a new birth –

your arms like tree branches elongating

hands like leaves expanding

your feet on solid ground

and inside you

the sea washing away what’s stuck around

the flow is perpetual

rise and fall; come and go

you will never be bonded again to those that suck you dry

whisper your benediction.

in constant renewal –

begin with the morning and end with the night

and plant your self into each moment with the conviction:

the universe will never disappoint
