Flow; shaking

This poem was written during my daily meditation practice. It did not come from thinking, from looking for words and creating literature, it did not come from the mind. It came out of flowing, words that my body had to say. It is part of FLOW writing which will be a series of poems spoken by my Body, and not from a place of the Mind.

Just move through, let it move through you,

imagine the ocean permeating every cell,

every crevice of brokenness, reviving.

Let it move through you, this

old stagnation, this

holding on to old things, lovers, old beliefs, shake it off

Dance it!

With pride.

You are no longer that.

Give yourself permission to feel

to feel

to feel more this time

to feel past the shame imprinted on your skin –

In my world there is no shame

All is welcome

Our darkness is necessary.

Give yourself permission to feel

to see the god in love making

to nurture an intimacy with Death, yet choose living

to receive the miracle of skin to skin

to listen to the stories of our breath

Others told you, told us

to be more, love more, shrink or expand in proportion to their limitations

to be safe, listen more, less, talk touch harder

skin too pale, too soft, too hard, you are too weak too loud. They’d say

we are never enough.

I say

no more

no

more.

Wild creature we are not tame

but valuable

star miracles

seeds of the earth

we are the god in prayer

we belong to the earth. We have known Dying

so closely felt Her gripping, enticing;

I say just be.

Just be.
