What do you do to this Body?

This Body that saved you so many times

from falling, from dark places of no escape.

Do you honour Her fully? This Body that comes from parts of your ancestors, your land,

the part of god you often deny within yourself. Can you see?

Do you suck and tighten your Belly in because you were told your fullness is not welcomed here?

Because you were shown the beauty of illusion instead of the beauty of truth?

How often do you look

and hate what you see?

Loosen within your skin.

I beg you, let love in.

Loosen each and every cell and expand into loving.

And how often you deny this holiness of Being. Your womb, the altar of your offering and receiving of Life.

I dance for the first time in days. My body streghtened by the hard decisions that calcify my bones into bravery.

Reverence to this Body, She loves you more than you think.

Sink back into your skin.

The body is a multilingual being. It speaks through its color and its temperature, the flush of recognition, the glow of love, the ash of pain, the heat of arousal, the coldness of nonconviction. . . . It speaks through the leaping of the heart, the falling of the spirits, the pit at the center, and rising hope.
