The body always holds truth

Art by Taryn Knight @taryndraws

Not all things need to be written
but some itch to get out with immediacy
wishing to remind you of what’s within:
the fierce mother lioness in you
only allows strengthened truth
and not less.

And whatever falls short of that
will not sustain its structures after a first storm.

You know your body is held by brick walls and trenches
protecting the purpose built in your core
pure as the crystalline core of the earth.

Too much sugar
your body craves the truth of salt
a body in molecular resemblance with seawater.

Sweetness blinds you
weakening your mind’s membranes.

Words come out to harbour an understanding
your body wants salt
and remembers.
